Toronto R&B Singer & Songwriter:

Relly

About the Artist

Born in Nice, France, Relly moved to Toronto with her family when she was four years old. Her father is from tropical Mauritius and mother is from Iran.

A storyteller by nature, Relly spent much of her youth observing the world around her, reinterpreting it in stories, poetry and dance. A quiet child, her mother signed her up for piano, violin, and singing lessons to encourage her to express herself through the arts. Although the arts have always been a part of Relly’s life, it wasn’t until she took a hiatus from the University of Ottawa at twenty-one that she finally followed her heart, translating her emotions and the life-lessons she had experienced into lyrics and melodies. She pushed herself to participate in slam poetry and open mic nights, weaving personal and universal stories of love, loss and relationships with stark and evocative lyrics.

In 2015 she started working with vocal coach Kristina Victoria from Elaine Overholt’s Big Voice Studios, where the likes of Sean Mendes, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, have trained. She is currently in studio working on her suite of singles with Producer Gord Richards (who has worked with Kiesza), from Oak Recording Studio. Her style fuses elements of Pop, R&B and tropical rhythms. Her musical influences span from Jennifer Lopez and Lauryn Hill to Nina Simone and Amy Winehouse.

Her first single “Lovin’ Lovin’ You” was released in May 2019. Her latest single “Give Me Us” is now available on all streaming platforms - Spotify, iTunes, SoundCloud, YouTube, and more.
